Letterwriting and Phone Calls
It might be summer recess but the anti-LGBTQ+, anti-rural, and anti-plural democracy antics have not ceased. Join us on Wednesday, July 30th (5:00 - 7:00 PM) at the Pride Center and Sanctuary in Fireweed Print Shop (TwispWorks N3) for a Letterwriting and Phonebanking event. We will provide a series of scripts for you to write letters and make phone calls to combat attempts to weaken democracy, hurt rural communities, and dehumanize LGBTQIA+ beings. We will also write letters of gratitude for those on the front lines advocating for the wellbeing and protection of all human beings and the environment to share love and appreciation for them
Allies are encouraged to attend this event.

WAYYY OUT HERE Writing Workshop
WAYYY OUT HERE WRITING WORKSHOP: What Does It Mean To Be “Other?”
Those outside the heterosexual normative culture may, as a default, be seen as other, but who we are to ourselves is most important. Our identity may be hidden or expressed. It might morph and show up differently in different settings and situations. Sometimes being other can cause us to feel shame, but it can also mean living a big beautiful queer existence.
In this workshop, we’ll use poems by Queer poets as prompts for us to express our own sense of otherness: how does it show up? What does it bring to our lives? How do we best claim our otherness as a positive trait that gives us strength and joy?
Pay what you can (suggested fee of $20-50). Free for WAYYY OUT HERE artists!!
Email fireweedprintshop@gmail.com to reserve your spot!

In a time of ugliness, isolation and fear, how might we meet our own heartache with curiosity—not to absolve those who hurt or harm, but to keep ourselves from hardening.
